The Pierre-Luc Dubois Foundation launched in March of 2020. Formerly known as the Vincent Lecavalier Foundation, it continues its predecessor’s legacy by vowing to support young athletes in regional communities who don’t have the means to play. The Vincent Lecavalier Foundation was in effect for 20 years and raised over $1 000 000 in hockey equipment. Pierre-Luc Dubois of the Los Angeles Kings recognized the impact it had in his community and vowed to continue the Foundation’s legacy. It is through donations and sponsors that we can offer hockey equipment to kids in need every year.
Pierre-Luc Dubois

Pierre-Luc Dubois is a professional hockey player in the NHL, currently playing for the Los Angeles Kings.

He was the third overall pick in the 2016 NHL draft, selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets. After four seasons with the team, Pierre-Luc joined the Winnipeg Jets in 2021.

Having grown up in more rural areas of the province (Côte-Nord and Bas Saint-Laurent), it was obvious that he would one day do his part for young hockey players from these regions. In 2020, Pierre-Luc took over for the Vincent Lecavalier Foundation, now called the Pierre-Luc Dubois Foundation.

“ Growing up playing in mostly rural regions of the province, many of my teammates believed that the NHL was not attainable for them. That only players from bigger cities with more opportunities made it.

Not only do I want to change that belief, I want to do my part to help young players in our region believe in their dreams and give them the means to achieve them. “
Our mission
The Pierre-Luc Dubois Foundation primarily directs its efforts towards youth, aiming to empower them in achieving their goals. It promotes healthy lifestyles among young people, including through participation in sports. The foundation is actively engaged within the community to fulfill three (3) specific objectives:
Board of Directors
The Pierre-Luc Dubois Foundation has 8 members on the executive board and 4 administrators; all proud Quebecois who recognize the importance of sports for our youth.
